Tournament format

Qualification

6 games entries and re-entries

50 athletes are qualified from Category A-G as follows:

A: General qualification

Athletes positioned 1-40 in the general qualification.

B: Early Bird Competition

Athletes positioned 1-5 in a separate standing for Squad 1-11.

C: Senior Competition

Senior athletes are born in 1972 or earlier.

The highest positioned in a separate standing for Senior athletes.

D: U21 Competition

U21 athletes are born in 2002 or later.

The highest positioned in a separate standing for U21 athletes.

E: Women Competition

The highest positioned in a separate standing for Women athletes.

F: Turbo-5

The athlete scoring the highest game in game 5.

G: Turbo-6

The athlete scoring the highest game in game 6.

Athletes are qualified in the order A-B-C-D-E-F-G.

The 50 athletes are qualified to final steps as follows

Athletes positioned 1-10 in the general standing are qualified for the Final Step 2.

Athletes positioned 11-40 in the general standing are qualified for the Final Step 1.

All other 10 qualified athletes are qualified for the Final Step 1.

Final Step 1

40 athletes are playing 5 games starting from scratch

Top 20 are qualified for the Final Step 2.

Athletes not qualified are ranked 31-50 according to their position in Step 1

Final Step 2

30 athletes are playing 5 games starting from scratch

Top 16 are qualified for the Final Step 3

Athletes not qualified are ranked 19-32 according to their position in Step 2

Final Step 3, Matchplay

16 athletes are qualified for matchplay. Athlete position 1^st in final step 2 play athlete positioned 16^th and so forth. Matches are played best of 3 games. Any tied game within a match will be broken by a 9^th & 10^th frame roll-off.

Winners advance to final step 4

Athletes not qualified are ranked 9-16.

Final Step 4, Matchplay

8 athletes are qualified for best of 5 games matchplay. Highest positioned athlete from final step 2 plays lowest positioned athlete from stop 2 and so forth. Matches are played best of 5 games. Any tied game within a match will be broken by a 9^th & 10^th frame roll-off.

Winners advance to final

Athletes not qualified are ranked 5-8.

Final Step 5

The 4 winners from final step 4 will play one game. Top 3 results will advance to next step. Lowest score athlete will be ranked 4

Final Step 6

The 3 highest scored athlete from final step 5 will play one game. Top 2 results will advance to next step. Lowest score athlete will be ranked 3.

Final Step 7

Top 2 athletes from final step 6 will play a one-game match

The loser of the match will be ranked 2

The winner of the match will be ranked 1.

Tournament tie rules

Qualification

The highest positioned athlete will be the athlete scoring the highest last game. If a tie still exists, the highest positioned athlete will be the athlete with the highest second last game etc.

Turbo Competitions

The highest positioned athlete will be the highest positioned athlete after the qualification.

Ties for prize money positions in final steps

Athletes with tied scores at final tournament positions will share the sum of prize money for the tied positions equally among them.

Final Steps

Ties influencing who will qualify for the next final step, and ties for any of the first 4 positions in step 3, will be broken by playing a 9^th and 10^th frame roll off, repeated until the tie is broken.
